Iron vs Bodybuilding: Week 7 Recap

Jak and I have decided to do a 3 month challenge -starting May 18, 2018 and ending August 10, 2018-  where we will compare the differences between doing weight training (J.Nyx) and bodyweight exercises (Jak).  Each Friday we will share our results, what changes we’re going to make to our respective programs, and specific benefits/issues we come across.

Alright ladies and gents, Week 7 is all wrapped up and below we’ll cover the results!  If you are not subscribed to our site and wish to receive our weekly newsletter covering topics about the challenge not being discussed here, be sure to enter your email in the subscribe section at the top right of this page.

Let’s begin!

Jak’s Stats: Week 7 (Bodyweight Training)

Measurements (Starting Point ⇒ Current)

  • Chest measurements – 39.75 in ⇒  40 in
  • Bicep measurements (relaxed) – 13.75 in ⇒ 14.25 in
  • Waist/Hip measurements – 39 in / 41.25 in ⇒ 35.5 in / 40.5 in

Except for the 4th of July celebrations this week, I really dialed in my diet, focusing on getting 160+ grams of protein a day while keeping my carbs under 100 grams daily.  I found after a very short acclimation phase, that my energy levels evened out and I didn’t need nearly as much caffeine in the morning to get my brain jumpstarted.

Breakfast consisted of a serving of overnight oats and a hardboiled egg on the side.  Lunch was a couple of hardboiled eggs, chicken, spinach, and broccoli.  Lastly, dinner was a small serving of steak, steamed broccoli and, you guessed it, more eggs.  You will be disappointed to know that none of the eggs went in my coffee however.

The results were great and probably would have been even better if I didn’t spend all Independence Day eating and drinking.  I’ve lost about another half inch around my waist while the other measurements remained the same.  The pair of jeans fit I’m wearing today fit comfortably whereas 3-4 weeks ago, they would have been uncomfortably tight.  Another solid win in my book.

Next goal is getting that waist under the 35 inch mark.

J.Nyx seems to be MIA at the moment so I’m going to leave his Week 6 stats up and he can update his numbers later.

J. Nyx’s Stats: Week 6 (Bodybuilding)

  • Bicep measurements (relaxed) –15.25in ⇒ 16in
  • Waist/Hip measurements -33in/35in ⇒ 31in/34in

Author: Jak

Jak, married and father of three, seeks to help the Red-Pill Community take its next step past the petty cynicism and ineffectual anger. While he recognizes that men are significantly handicapped by the modern legal system and culture, he doesn't accept that traditional marriage is untenable in today's social climate. Rather, men must be willing to adapt to this new world by implementing new tactics and approaches to maintaining a balance of power. Jak is here to provide you with these lessons.
