This weekend, I went with a good friend of mine (I’ll call him Luke) on a two night backpacking trip. I took my five oldest kids (ages 13, 11, 9, 8, and 5) and Luke took his three oldest (ages 11, 10 and 8, all boys). Because they never went on an overnight pack packing trip before, I decided to do a Continue reading “Benefits of Playing Outdoors”
As I return to posting to Team WB Fitness today, I’m going over a topic that I’ve only just recently began to witness and comment on. I’ll paraphrase Ronnie Coleman here when I say “Errybody wanna lose body fat but nobody wanna give up the pizza.” Hardly Shakespeare, but you know what I mean. The biggest bit of knowledge I’ve learned this year about fitness is that your diet has to be as important as your training. Today, I’ll go over my insights and keys to lowering body fat.

ak and I have decided to do a 3 month challenge -starting May 18, 2018 and ending August 10, 2018- where we will compare the differences between doing weight training (J.Nyx) and bodyweight exercises (Jak). Each Friday we will share our results, what changes we’re going to make to our respective programs, and specific benefits/issues we come across.

I’m back from a much needed and as usual, way too short vacation with the family. For meal prep for the week, I wanted to change it up from my fritatta (as there are too many eggs on this site lately) so I went for a more traditional high protein lunch for the week; chicken breast. Today I’ll go over what you need and how I prepared and portioned it.

Right now I’m on my weeks vacation. A time for relaxation, overeating, drinking and no workouts right? WRONG! That’s right, I am actually going to continue to lift on vacation. Something about having the time to do it makes me happy to get before everyone and get a quick session in. Sure I could go join a local gym, and I may get a day pass here or there, but I actually brought some of the gym with me. Today I’ll go over my quick program that I’ll be doing for the next week while on vacation.

We’ve all heard about tactics you can use to achieve success. DGAF, fake it til you make it, etc but I’ve noticed a mindset that many men these days have adopted due to a myriad of reasons, but the outcome is always the same. Today we’ll go over what this modern loser mindset is and how you can work toward fixing it.

I return to my favorite lifts series this week where we go over some of the lesser known accessory lifts. Today we’re reviewing the One Arm Dumbbell Upright Row and Behind The Back Barbell Shrug. Lets get to it:

At WB Fitness we follow a strict workout and diet routine. It is designed to be brutal but efficient in making you lean, cut and looking good. We adhere to this regimen to achieve the results we desire, but everyone who spends time in the gym knows all about that day where you make it to the gym, but your mind isnt here. The music isnt working. You’re dreading that next lift. So what do you do? You’re already there, so dont waste the time. Today I’ll talk about a fun thing you can do to get your head right, get some reps in, and get back on track.

I was talking with WB about days off and how it affects you. Not just physically, but mentally The joke about how the first day you pick up the iron is the day you’re forever small has some truth in it. The other side of the spectrum is that when we miss a day, its not others we let down, but ourselves. I think all of us here can agree that we fucking love this game. As tough as it is, with the pain, the time it takes, the clean eating etc, we all keep coming back for more, but why is that?
