Destruction of Doubt

We all hit that point when doing something where doubt begins to kick in.  Whether you’re trying to get that next rep at the gym, trying to get something done at work, or when mid-project on something of leisure, there can be that time when everything is telling you to just give up, take the easy path, and do something easy, or worse, never start at all.  Recently I discovered that this voice inside you is typically wrong, and you’re capable of much more than you think.  Today I’ll go over some scenarios where just giving it that extra 1% more effort can pay off.   Continue reading “Destruction of Doubt”

Making Time for Yourself

Last Sunday I decided to break up the usual homebody routine and decided to hit one of my good buddies up.  We met up, shot the shit, and really just chilled.  I was having a good time and a breather from being Dad and husband all the time felt great, but you see guys who never leave the side of their wives and kids, or worst case, they are “forbidden” to have time for themselves.  These guys always have a defeated, dead  look on their faces. Today go over why you should schedule solitary time and time with your guy friends away from the family.

The Importance of Rest

Here at AKC we always advocate to take the route that may be more difficult, but it pays off in the end.  You kill it in the gym, you crush it at work, and you’re the natural leader of your family, but we all need a bit of downtime.  Recently I’ve realized that I wasn’t giving myself enough recovery, if any at all.  We’ll discuss the importance of rest and downtime for dads and husbands who dominate life.
