Ah January, a time when everyone is on their A game right?   Everyone is committed to getting fit/eating better, quitting smoking/drinking, saving more money, etc.  All of these are great but they typically don’t last very long.  The problem with new years resolutions is that they’re almost always destined to fail.  Today, I’ll go over why resolutions typically fail and what you can do to create real change in your life this year

Dealing With Downtime

As most of you may have noticed by now, I like to relate my articles to things I actually do or think about in my real  life.  On Monday, I came down with a nasty stomach virus that forced me to leave work early.  I felt like shit, went home, and got some rest.   When I woke up I got to thinking about how being the type of guy I am, who handles a ton of shit on his plate daily, I can’t afford much downtime, but I’m also not a machine either.  Today I’ll cover my insights on why downtime is necessary, and how you can use it to your advantage.

Ignoring The Urge to Quit

 

Whether you’re about about to make that last rep, about to get that last mile in, or 20 minutes out from completing a project, there seems to be this voice telling you that “this is too hard” and “just give up.”  I’ve worked to ignore this voice and push myself harder than I ever could by grinding on and keeping things moving.  To me, that is the key to overcoming your own self doubt and unreal limitations.
