I love camping. I love playing in the mountains, exploring, seeing new country, and doing activities that toughen myself and my children. With six kids, spending time in the outdoors can be a challenge. Whining, filthy little brats tax your patience, and yet spending the quality time is a great way to see them learn and grow.

We hear this phrase tossed around a lot, but rarely do we sit down and ponder its full implications.
What does it mean to control our emotions?
Should men simply wear a poker face at all times?
The answer surprisingly is absolutely not. Humans are naturally emotive creatures. It’s a tool to help us process the world around us and to properly respond. When out with your family, chances are you’re going to be piled into your family car. I don’t care if its a minivan (okay I do but I’ll let it go for the sake of knowledge), a sedan, or a pickup truck, having the supplies you need when you’re stranded or even just in a pinch will help you control the situation a little better than the guy who has nothing.
